CHAMBER MUSIC IN PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
CHAMBER MUSIC IN PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Chimera Ensemble is a virtuosic, versatile and dynamic chamber music ensemble, dedicated to bringing memorable, meaningful musical experiences of the highest standard to people of all ages, culture and background.
A monstrous fire-breathing creature of Greek myth, with the head of a lion, body of a goat and tail of a serpent, a Chimera is also a term used to describe something wildly imaginative, or anything made from different parts.
Violinist Rebecca Glorie, cellist Melinda Forsythe, and pianist Tommaso Pollio formed Chimera Ensemble in 2014. The three Perth-born musicians have each performed internationally, and share a love of chamber music.
They agree that when an artist plays chamber music, each member of the ensemble should have the strength and virtuosity of a soloist, while at the same time blending and working together to present a unified musical interpretation. This results in a remarkably satisfying musical experience for both performers and their audience.
Tommaso is also artistic advisor and part of MusicBook Stories, Lark Chamber Opera and Freeze Frame Opera. All three mediums are part of an organisation designed to bring the joy of music to a wider audience demographic.

FREEZE FRAME OPERA
Freeze Frame Opera is Western Australia’s new and cutting edge opera company. Our mission is to make opera accessible, affordable and appealing.
At Freeze Frame Opera we are shaking up the opera experience to make something exciting and new. In a relaxed setting, you can enjoy a drink as you experience the raw power of the human voice, right up close.
Our operas are performed in intimate and interesting venues. Tickets are cheap to encourage a wide audience to experience this interactive, multi sensory operatic experience. We are to Opera what 20/20 is to cricket. You will experience the highs and the lows of opera brought together in a new, shorter format.
MUSICBOOK STORIES
Music Book believe that education should be fun and interactive. As adults, we all remember our favourite books as children and we know how important it is for children to have a positive experience in a learning environment.
We hope to inspire young people to get excited about books, to enjoy listening to music and appreciating art, and to get up and shake it all about! Classical music is proven to improve learning ability across a wide range of issues – from helping young people with learning difficulties, to helping sick people in hospital – music can even develop new pathways in the brain!
By combining literature with art and music, Music Book hope to create a sense of happiness and enjoyment – all the time helping children to learn.

LARK CHAMBER OPERA
Lark Chamber Opera is a dynamic ensemble of West Australian Artists committed to bringing classical music and Opera to a wider audience, beginning with children and young people.
Supported by the WA Department of Culture and the Arts and Healthway, the LCO is also a mobile touring ensemble, who brought their unique take on Opera to WA Schools and in Concert performances across Western Australia.
Our shows are easily adaptable and can be performed for any size audience and are also designed to accommodate any school’s performance areas or music classrooms. The shows have been created to involve children and students in the performance itself with the inclusion of sung parts, percussion instruments to play and spoken dialogue.
